Here are a few things I consider now that I’m at an age where buying a house is a more possible aspiration than just a Pinterest board. 

Friendly neighbors, 

A safe environment, 

Pet-friendly, 

It has all the necessary amenities, and 

It is both accessible by car and foot. 

Simple, yes, but it comes with a hefty price. When you read through the list above, I’m essentially listing down things that can only be found in affluent neighborhoods in the Metro or normal neighborhoods outside the Metro. Unfortunately, a lot of millennials like me face the same predicament. We can’t leave the Metro since this is where we work and, as much as we want to deny it, it has all the amenities we need to survive and all the other amenities that keep us sane. 

So, what’s the solution? Look for a city that hopefully fits all our needs within the Metro. 

Surprisingly, it’s easy. 

Malabon City. 

It’s a city within the Metro and has all the amenities and the usual hustle and bustle but it also has a tranquil side to it. Its cultural and historical track record is something worth boasting about and wouldn’t that be a treat to live in a historical place? It’s not Europe but it’s as close as with its Spanish and ancestral architecture that has been well-preserved by the local municipalities. 

What about the prices, you ask? 

Well, let me introduce you to Doña Nena.
